The original hall 4 was built in 1988 and only took up half of the present surface area. The original structure was a low and dark black box and it was therefore replaced in 2005 by a new hall 4 with twice the surface area: 8,000 m² of exhibition space and immediately the biggest of the existing halls in the entire complex. Hall 4 was connected to the other existing halls by means of something that would later on act as a central axis between the halls: Rambla Zuid (Rambla South).
